Memories
Original painting
Acylic and lace on canvas. 30”x40”
Memories is one of my most intricate paintings, both in its details and in the feelings I hope it holds. It is about the way we carry pieces of our past with us. It is about how certain moments stay, why others fade, and when some change meaning as we grow older. The two women represent the relationship we have with our memories: one holding onto moments that once felt infinite, while the other holds a mirror toward us, asking us to look at our own lives and the things we choose to remember. The disco ball represents the magic of being alive, the little moments that may seem ordinary at the time but become something precious when we look back. The blue bubbles surrounding them symbolize memories and life itself, each one holding its own little world, fragile and fleeting, yet meaningful in ways we may not fully understand until much later. The blue lace in the corner reminds me of the delicate things we inherit, the connections we carry, and the parts of our stories that quietly weave themselves into who we become. Ultimately, this painting is about making peace with the past, finding beauty in what remains, and understanding that even as moments pass, the feelings and people that shaped us never quite leave.
