Empress Dowager Xiaowuwen is a powerful Qing dynasty figure. I made this painting to highlight her and use her story as a model of strength, resilience, and the often-overlooked power of women who have always shaped history. The fairy symbolizes the magician who believed in her and changed the course of her life, reminding us that a single person’s belief can help another discover their potential. Through this painting, I hope to honor her legacy while encouraging us to look beyond judgment, recognize the strength in others, and choose to believe in one another, even when the world does not.
